quiet time*

Proverbs 23:9 Do not speak to a fool, for he will scorn the wisdom of your words.

if you don't speak to fools, how will the fools ever grow any wiser?

Pro 23:23 Buy the truth and do not sell it; get wisdom, discipline and understanding.

i guess the devil will buy truth from you and pay with the currency of deceit.

Pro 24:14 Know also that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, there is a future hope for you, an your hope will not be cut off.

this helps... hopelessness and despair is a terrible and painful feeling.. well it beseeches to seek wisdom~ which is not always the most popular choice when foolishness is such an easy and convenient option.

This one is hot.

Pro 24:26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.

sweet*~

Pro24:33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest- and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like and armed man

This verse is damn potent. Kills me everytime i read it. It's like the gist of the Protestant Work Ethic that Max Weber talks about. The way of the writing feels dark and eerie and just creeps me and scares the shit out of me. (haha!) God's word is surely powerful.

We mistake defiance for devotion, arguing with God instead of surrendering.

Today's the beginning of my personal house arrest. I'm supposed to refrain from gong out and from cooking or cleaning or doing anything but studying and completing my presentation and essay. Well well.. as you can tell the house arrest is so not in action now.

Went for pancakes last night. Yummy supper!* Called Russian Blintz, it's french crepe filled with philly cream cheese with a scoop of vanilla ice and a pool of blueberries flanking the sides. Quite decadent but not ultimate decadence i'd say. Felt that it wasn't strong enough the cheese taste.

Then something cropped up and this foolish bloke uttered "Cos you all abandoned me what" when he was questioned about his decision to park so darn far away when there were tonnes of parking lots just across the road.

Hmm. Point being he is the owner of the car you would quite naturally assume that he knows enough about parking and traffic rules to make the best decision and he should be able to handle that himself. For Christ's sake it was like 12mn and the streets were like empty and all... and if he had like doubts he could've called. AND if he felt the need he could have hollered for someone to stay with him before all of us scrambled out of the car for fear of being caught by the police for overcapacity and getting a fine. HMM. food for thought, food for thought. That bloke needs to grow la. Like a lot. He's a typical baby-fied helpless Singaporean guy. True sadNess.

kk gotta go. talk to u soon*
